Shirley Chippendale 

July 26, 1939-February 12, 2025

Shirley Chippendale (nee: Macomber), 85, of Fairfield, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Fairfield, New Jersey most of her life where she raised her two children. 

She is survived by her beloved children, Donna Marie Chippendale and Karl Chippendale; her cherished grandsons, Patrick and Chase; her brother, James Macomber; and her sister, Linda Varano, and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was the beloved daughter of the late James and Francis Macomber. 

Shirley had a passion for health and wellness, working as a fitness instructor at Jack LaLanne and Montclair Golf Club. She also served as an adjudicator for the New Jersey State Division of Disability Determinations, dedicating her time to helping others. A devoted member of her community, she was den mother for Cub Scouts; she volunteered at Saint Thomas More School, giving her heart and soul to support students and staff.

In her free time, Shirley found joy in bowling and gardening, hobbies that reflected her active spirit and love for nature. Shirley enjoyed hosting parties at her home and spending time with her family poolside. She will be remembered for her strength and generosity.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 18th, from 4-7 at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield. The Funeral Service will be offered Wednesday, February 19th, from 9:30-10:00 at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home followed by Committal Service 10:30-11:00 at Restland Memorial Park, 79 Deforest Avenue, East Hanover.
