Shirley Phelps

Phelps, Shirley (nee Thomas), 66, of Somerset, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2017. Loving mother of Aaron and Donald Phelps. Dear sister of Juwan Thomas, Lorna Thomas, and the late Janice Brunson. Beloved daughter of the late Norma Thomas. Ms. Phelps was a writer, a womens advocate, and held a Masters Degree. She enjoyed martial arts and was a competitive bowler. She was president of the African American group @ Regency Nursing Facility. Funeral service Friday from the Caiola-Stellato Funeral Home, 691 Avenue C, Bayonne. Family and friends will be received Friday 10AM-2PM. Donations may be made to American Cancer Society P.O.
