Shirley Varacalli

Shirley Varacalli (nee Kurtz), 83, of Jersey City, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Anthony P. Varacalli. Loving mother of Anthony Varacalli and the late Nicholas "Nicky" Varacalli and Constance "Connie" Yglesias. Dear sister of Richard Kurtz, Elizabeth & her husband Robert Stevenson and the late Harry Kurtz and Ronald Redfield. Cherished grandmother of Erica & her husband Vinnie Caiola. Adored great-grandmother of Graziano & Giavanna. Caring mother-in-law of Vinny Yglesias. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Shirley's indomitable spirit encouraged her family and friends to persist in the face of many struggles. She enjoyed life especially time with her son, granddaughter and the two joys of her life, her great-grandchildren. All who knew Shirley loved her unconditionally. She will be greatly missed. Funeral Saturday 10AM from the Caiola-Stellato Funeral Home, 691 Avenue C, Bayonne. Funeral Mass 11AM St. Henry's R.C. Church. Interment Holy Name Cemetery. Friends will be received Friday 4-8PM.
