Shiya Li

Shiya Li, a retired professor from Wuhan University, China, passed away on May 28 at age of 82. One of the three daughters of a doctor and a teacher, Shiya was born in Hulan, China on Jan 17, 1933. She grew up in war times and attended Wuhan University, Hubei, in 1956, After receiving her bachelor and master degree in the science of history, she became a teacher and then a professor of the department of history of the university till she retired in 1993. She got married to Shengting Li in 1960 and together, they raised two wonderful children. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister and teacher, Shiya is survived by the love of her life, Shengting, her son and daughter, her daughter-in-law and son-in-law, her grand children, her sisters and brothers-in-law, her sister-in-law, her nieces and their families and many, many friends and students.
