Sophie Mary Novak

Sophie Mary Novak, age 72, was born in Passaic, NJ on April 17, 1948. She escaped this mortal coil at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, NJ on March 16, 2021 after a long illness. Ms. Novak was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and she grudgingly held her most recent job at the County of Union in their child support payment unit causing endless havoc to many an unwitting deadbeat dad.

Sophie's joys included her family which included her son Robert, daughter in law Tami and brother Stephen. She loved Chinese food buffets, country music, the Dr. Who show, knitting, animals, and horror movies - the cheesier the better. She never met an "As Seen on TV" product she didn't like and she was an appallingly bad driver. (Sorry, Passaic, NJ).

Sophie was the friend to call when you needed a laugh, a hug, a plate of pierogies, unsolicited advice, or someone to drive the getaway car. In short, Sophie was a good, kind person and the world is darker today because her light is out. She will be greatly missed.

Her family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, you do one good deed today in Sophie's name. We know that she would have appreciated that.
