Stella R. Meli

Stella R. Meli, 88, of Fairfield, NJ on Friday, May 23, 2008. Beloved wife of the late Gregory P. Loving mother of Linda Simpson, and the late Joseph. Dear sister of Arlain Velie and Chester Cavaliere, she was predeceased by three brothers and one sister. Cherished grandmother of three. Adored great-grandmother of four. Stella and her late husband were the co-owners of the family business, Meli Brothers Caldwell Greenhouses in Fairfield, from 1946 until they retired in 1982. They raised many varieties of house plants which they wholesaled to retail shops and markets. She was a parishoner of St. Thomas More R.C. Church in Fairfield. All services were private under the direction of the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield. Entombment was in Calvary Mausoleum, Paterson.
