She was born in Jersey City, NJ, on February 7, 1956 to Anthony & Marie Contey. Susan's life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and compassion for those around her.
Beloved wife of the late Alan Purcell. Loving mother of Anthony & his wife Ying Lam Purcell. Cherished step-mother of Paul & his wife Catrina Purcell. Adored grandmother of Theodore and AJ Purcell. Dear sister of Anthony & his wife Darlene Contey. Her warm spirit and genuine kindness left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
For many years, Susan excelled in her role as the Director of Housekeeping at the Hilton Garden Inn in Wayne, where her commitment to guest services shone brightly. She took pride in her work, ensuring that others felt welcomed and comfortable in their home away from home.
Beyond her professional achievements, Susan had a profound passion for animal welfare. She was an active member of the Collie Health Foundation, Collie Rescue of Northern NJ, and the Alan Purcell Wayne Township Animal Shelter. Her love for collies was a testament to her gentle heart and commitment to making the world a better place for all creatures.
Visitation Wednesday 4-8PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Rd., Fairfield. Funeral Service Thursday 11AM at the funeral home followed by a committal service at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.
