Theodore "Sandy" Burns,

Theodore "Sandy" Burns, Jr., 76, of Fort Lee, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2019. Beloved son of the late Theodore "Dody" & Josephine Burns. Loving brother of Joseph & his wife Joyce Burns. Dear uncle of Lauren & her husband Michael Mattaliano and Alexis & her husband Christopher Milano. Adored grand-uncle of Ella, Francesca, Olivia & Michael Luca. Sandy was raised in Belleville where he was a 1961 graduate of Belleville High School before going on to Fairleigh Dickinson University to receive his Bachelor's Degree. Mr. Burns was an English Teacher for the Newark School System for 32 years before retiring in 1998 from East Side High School. He enjoyed reading, movies, and shows, but his real passion was playing Bridge with friends as a Master Bridge Player. Funeral Thursday 9AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield. Funeral Mass Thursday 10AM St. Thomas More Church. Entombment Glendale Mausoleum. Friends will be received Wednesday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9PM. In lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
