Theresa Carmella Ruzzo

Theresa Ruzzo (nee Cortazzo), passed away peacefully in her home on February 10, 2018. She was 96 years old. Theresa was born in a small village outside Naples, Italy before immigrating to the U.S. in 1928 as a 7 year old. She grew up on Elm Street in Newark and became a licensed beautician before marrying her husband of over 50 years, Lawrence Ruzzo, and moving to Lyndhurst in 1950. Theresa was at her happiest dancing, swimming, partying, playing cards, and spending time with her entire family. She is survived by her son, Robert Ruzzo, daughter Deborah Thorne (Steven), sister JoAnn Zweig, grandchildren Steven Thorne (Jennifer), Jason Thorne, and great grand-children Ella & Jaxon Thorne. She is predeceased by her brothers Philip & Alfred Cortazzo. She led a full wonderful life & will be truly missed by all who knew her. We love you kiddo! Funeral Friday 10AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass 11AM Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church Friends will be received Thursday 3-8PM.
