Tomas Jose Padilla Molina

Tomas Jose Padilla Molina, 87, of Hackensack, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 28, 1937, in Juan de Acosta, Colombia, Tomas lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and an enduring commitment to helping others.

Tomas spent his early years on his family's farm, the largest in Juan de Acosta. When the farm was sold in the 1950's, his family relocated to Barranquilla, where his father's business struggles required Tomas to begin working at the young age of 16. These early challenges shaped Tomas's steadfast work ethic and instilled in him a deep sense of responsibility, qualities he carried throughout his life.

In 1968, Tomas emigrated to the United States in search of a better life for his young family. A few months later, he was reunited with his beloved wife, Aura, and their two children, Tomas and Rita. They settled in Hackensack, NJ, where Tomas worked tirelessly in factories alongside his wife to provide opportunities for their children, enabling both to achieve success-his daughter as a nurse and his son as a police officer.

Despite the distance, Tomas never forgot his roots, sending unwavering financial support to his parents and siblings in Colombia throughout his life. His generosity and dedication to his family extended across borders and generations.

Tomas was predeceased by his wife, Aura, in 2016. He is survived by his daughter, Rita; his son, Tom, and his wife, Christine; and his five cherished grandchildren, Briana, Isabel, Thomas, Orlando, and Sabrina.

The family will hold a private viewing and burial to honor Tomas's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Amedisys Hospice in his memory.

Tomas's legacy of love, hard work, and generosity will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
