Valentine C. Bremer died July 16, 2004 at Prospect Heights Rehabilitation Center in Hackensack. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Lyndhurst for the past 61 years. He was a biochemist for C.F. Mueller Pasta in Jersey City for 30 years retiring in 1980. Mr. Bremer was a member of the American Cemical Society for 56 years, American Society for Quality for 53 years, CF Mueller Quarter Century Club, Past Treasurer and Vestry Member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church. He received a B.S. Degree in Biology at age 19 and M.S. degree in Biology in 1937, both from Columbia University. He was pre-deceased by his wife Eleanor in 1983. He is the beloved father of Mary of Lyndhurst, NJ, Charles of Arlington, VA, and Jack of Fairbanks, Alaska and father-in-law of Carol, Luanne, and Jennifer. Mr. Bremer is also survived by his grandchildren Deborah, Allison, Erich, Tristan, and Derek and two great-grandchildren Carol and Benjamin. The funeral will be on Tuesday at 9am from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home 425 Ridge Rd. Lyndhurst with a 10am service at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Friends will be received on Sunday 2-6pm and Monday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Donations may be made to The Bergen Chapter of the American Red Cross or St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
