Vera Bartola Franceschini passed away peacefully from natural causes on September 11, 2024, at the age of 98, in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Born on August 23, 1926, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Vera's life was a remarkable journey characterized by love, generosity, and service to her community.
Vera's early years were spent in Jersey City, where she attended Dickinson High School. Her education laid the groundwork for a life filled with various pursuits and accomplishments. Vera's career included a position at Yardley of London, where she was well-regarded for her dedication and work ethic. Later, she would go on to co-own Jay-C liquors on 10th St. in Union City. In partnership with her beloved husband, Michael Franceschini, for many years. Together, they built not just a business, but a community hub that thrived under their care and leadership.
Beyond her professional achievements, Vera was deeply involved in social women's groups and contributed tirelessly to community service centers and churches throughout the years. Vera's commitment to her community was a testament to her thoughtful nature and her belief in the importance of giving back.
Those who knew Vera can attest that she was the embodiment of love and generosity. Her kindness touched the lives of everyone she met, and she will be remembered for her compassionate spirit and her unwavering support of family and friends.
Vera's legacy is carried on by her loving family. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Ale Franceschini; her granddaughters, Jillian Lombardi, Marisa Ale, and Amanda Ale; and her sister, Marion Evangelista, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Vera was predeceased by her devoted husband, Michael Franceschini; her son, Michael Franceschini Jr.; and her daughter, Patricia Franceschini Lombardi. The loss of Vera leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, but her memory will forever be cherished and celebrated.

The visiting services will be at Ippolito-Stellato funeral home in Lyndhurst on Sunday September 15, 2024 from 3-7pm. There will be a mass on monday September 16, 2024 at 9:30am at Saint Michael’s Church in Lyndhurst. Vera will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery In North Arlington afterwards. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Operation Smile.
