Vincent P. Arfuso

April 26, 1932 — April 25, 2025

Vincent P. Arfuso, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and veteran, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025, just a day before his 93rd birthday. A lifelong resident of Fort Lee, New Jersey, Vincent lived a remarkable life filled with dedication to his family, service to his country, and commitment to the community.

Born on April 26, 1932, Vincent proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954, where he was a member of the 2nd Infantry Division, 23rd Regiment. His valor earned him several honors, including the Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal with bronze service star, and the Korean Peace Medal.  After returning home, Vincent embarked on a distinguished career in law enforcement, working as a police officer from 1960 until his retirement in 1992.  He served as Police Chief of the Palisade Interstate Parkway Police Department from 1981 to 1992, Superintendent of the NJ Section of the Palisade Interstate Park, and held memberships in various organizations, including the International Police Chiefs Association, the New Jersey State Police Chiefs Association, and the Bergen County Police Chiefs Association, where he was president in 1992. Notably, he received the Bergen County Police Chiefs Achievement Award in 1986.  Vincent was one of the longest serving members of the Cairola-Barber Fort Lee VFW Post 2342 and a lifelong parishioner of Madonna R.C. Church.

Beloved husband of Florence Arfuso. Loving father of Linda Kazanecki & her husband Paul, Vincent Arfuso & his wife Deidre, Jenny Kurack & her husband Robert, and Phil Arfuso. Cherished grandfather to Stephanie, Evan, Alexander, Gianna, Kevin, Vincent, Kristen, Mona and Olivia. Adored great-grandfather of Austin, Aria, and Magnolia. Dear brother of the late Carmela Sutera and Gregory Arfuso.

Funeral Wednesday 8:30AM from the Hunt-Stellato Funeral Home, 1601 Palisade Ave., Fort Lee. Funeral Mass Wednesday 9:30AM at Madonna Church, 340 Main Street. Entombment Madonna Mausoleum. Friends will be received Tuesday 4-8 PM.

Vincent P. Arfuso leaves behind a legacy of honor, service, and love that will be cherished by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered in the hearts of his family and the community he served so faithfully.
