Bottino, Vincent J., 63, of Bayonne, NJ passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Loving son of the late Vincent F. & Elaine A. Bottino (nee Magenheimer). Beloved husband of 42 years to Toni Bottino (nee Mazzucola). Cherished father of Stacy Mark & her husband John, Melissa Fava & her husband Andrew, & Vincent Craig Bottino & his wife Jenna. Vincent is also survived by devoted friends Debby & Teak Mattiello and Red Kubert and many nieces & nephews & dear friends. Born & raised in Bayonne, Vinny Bottino was a pillar in the Bayonne Community. Vinny along with his wife Toni took over his family business, The Big Apple Sports Palace and Restaurant established by his parents in 1976. The short version of the bar's story is about seeing his family, friends and neighbors grow up around the establishment. Through the years, so many important family milestones happened and were celebrated at the Big Apple. Vinny was known by everyone as a hard worker who always went above and beyond to help anyone in need. The Big Apple supported all the local sports organizations including the PAL, Bayonne High School, Bayonne Youth Soccer Association(BYSA), Bayonne Little League, and Bayonne Cal Ripken (to name a few). Vincent was an avid & dedicated fan of the New York Giants, the New Jersey Devils, & the New York Yankees. One thing he always prided himself in was to give back to the community and especially the children of Bayonne. Vinny was quoted saying ''Sometimes I think about leaving here, but then I think, nah, my heart's here in Bayonne.'' Vinny honestly felt he was the epitome of George Bailey and this was his “Wonderful Life” Vinny received many accolades throughout his life but never expected any of them. He simply did things because he enjoyed helping people. After 40 years in business Vinny and Toni decided to retire to spend quality time with their children and grandchildren, the true joys of their lives. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7-9PM & Thursday from 2-4PM & 7-9PM at the Caiola-Stellato Funeral Home, 691 Avenue C, Bayonne, NJ.
