Vincent "Jim" Covello

Vincent "Jim" Covello, 87, passed away on April 8, 2018, surrounded by his family. Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1930, he lived in Lyndhurst for more than 51 years. Beloved husband of Lucy (nee Maresca) and devoted father to his four children, Joseph, Frank, Vincent (deceased) and Debbie. He was the loving grandfather of Brandon Covello, Matthew O'Hara, Evan Covello, Alyssa Covello, Colin Covello, Kimberly O'Hara and two great-grandchildren, Brantley O'Hara and Isaac O'Hara. Vincent spent his career working for the New York City Transit Authority, where he rose to the level of foreman before retiring. Not able to remain idle following his retirement, he worked for the Lyndhurst Public Library until his retirement. Outside of work he was a great handyman who could repair anything. Funeral Thursday 9AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass 10AM Sacred Heart R.C. Church. Interment Hillside Cemetery. Friends will be received Wednesday 4-8PM.
