Vincent R Vespole

June 16, 1925 — February 8, 2007

Vespole, Vincent R., of Roseland, NJ (formerly of West Orange, NJ) on February 8, 2007. Beloved husband of the late Susan (nee Silipo). Loving father of Ernest and his wife Jennifer, Mark and his wife Mary Linda Fisher, Vinessa Lombardo and her husband Anthony. Dear brother of Adele Guenther. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Mr. Vespole resided in Roseland for the past five years. Previously he was a resident of West Orange for 42 years. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and served as gunner. He was member of the Navy League and the Old Guard. He taught vocal music at Lambertville High School before going to Hackensack High School where he taught for 25 years before retiring in 1990. While teaching at Hackensack HS, he brought the school chorus to Czechoslovakia and Romania in 1971. Also at the high school, he was musical stage director. He also did musical stage directing in community theater in Essex County. Mr. Vespole was a professional singer and pianist, and performed at jazz clubs and weddings. He was a member of the Montclair Dapper Dans of Harmony, a Barbershop Chorus, and the President's Men, a Barbershop Quartet. As a young man, he was a jeweler, learning the business from his father. He owned and operated Vincent R. Vespole, Inc., Jewelers in Newark. Funeral Monday 9 AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield. Funeral Mass 10 AM at St. Thomas More RC Church. Private Entombment. Friends will be received Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Sunday 2-6PM. Donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 767 Northfield Ave., West Orange, NJ 07052.
