Vincent Rosa

September 30, 1921 — October 18, 2008

Vincent Rosa, 87, died at Hackensack University Medical Center on October 18, 2008. Born in Newark, he lived in Jersey City until moving to Lyndhurst 37 years ago. He served as a City Comptroller for Jersey City and later was an Accountant for the Archdiocese of Newark. He has been employed with the Township of Lyndhurst as the Recycling Coordinator for the past 20 years. Mr. Rosa was a veteran of the US Air Force during WWII and the Korean War. He was active in veterans organizations and was a member of the Bergen County Democratic Committee for many years. He was a past commander of VFW Guidetti-Rogalski-Wase Post #3549, a member of AMVETS AWW Lewandowski Post #20 and past commander of American Legion Barringer-Walker-LoPinto #139 all of Lyndhurst. He was a member and Past Master of Alba Lodge #891 of New York City for 57 years and also a member of Adonirman-Highland-Wakefield-Rising Star Lodge #80 of Lyndhurst. Mr. Rosa is survived by many cousins. The arrangments are under the supervision of the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home 425 Ridge Rd. Lyndhurst. Friends will be received Tuesday 4-8PM. Cremation private. Donations may be made to your favorite charity.
