Walter F. Schubert

Walter F. Schubert, 87, lifelong resident of Fairfield, NJ on Thursday, February 28, 2008. Beloved husband of Irma (nee Nytra). Loving father of Roger. Dear brother of the late Henry, John, Edward, George, Margaret Schubert, Mary Stapleton and Lillian Smith. Cherished grandfather of Eric and Nichole Schubert. Mr. Schubert was a US Army veteran of WW II, a member of Fairfield VFW Post 7925 and Fairfield Fire Dept 4887. After WW II, he worked the 44 acre family vegetabe farm which is now Commerce Road. He had his own working farm in Fairfield until 5 years ago. Mr. Schubert was a dairyman for O'Dowd's in Pine Brook for 35 years before retiring in 1981. Funeral service Monday at 10am at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield NJ. Interment Hillside Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends will be received Sunday 2-6pm.
