Wladyslaw Joseph Czapnik

Wladyslaw Joseph Czapnik, 85, of Lyndhurst, NJ on Monday, September 23, 2013. Beloved husband of Anna (nee Lesniewska) Czapnik. Loving father of Christopher Czapnik, and Dorothy & her husband Tom Kadziela. Cherished grandfather of Catherine Kadziela. Dear brother of Stefania Pajak. Mr. Czapnik was born in Poland and was taken as a prisoner by the Russians in 1940 to Siberia. He was released in 1942 and landed in Persia before traveling to Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Palestine and England where he enrolled in Naval Cadet School and learned drafting. He came to the United States in 1955 to at last find a permanent home. He was a Tool Designer for Atlantic Design before retiring. After retirement he worked for Stop & Shop for 7 years. Funeral Friday at 10 AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass 11 AM St. Michael's R.C. Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received Thursday 4-8 PM.
